"Such a welcome and immediate friendship bowled me over!"

My only acquaintance with the organisation before was in the nineties when I was a guest at a wedding reception held in Hilltop. A wonderful time was had.

Within the past few weeks, I saw an illustrated post on Facebook with news of a new Movers and Shakers starting up in the hall of Oakridge Baptist church and run by the Multicultural Organisation.

I was a regular of Movers and Shakers when it was run by some Baptist volunteers, very happily, at their premises, so I spent six years gladly familiarising with Oakridge till Covid arrived and unfortunately the volunteers were not able to re-start after the lockdown years.

So when I read the news that the same building would hold a new venture of Movers and Shakers, by WMCO, I joined like a shot. Especially as there would be minibus transport, excellent!

I have now been there for two sessions which include lunch, and the few hours are full of (firstly of course!) fitness with lovely trainers, tasty food, and quizzes which awaken my brain out of its fog! The friendship is instant and the laughter bubbles along, so there is no chance to feel 'new'. Thank goodness I found these delightful sessions before becoming too old to enjoy. Thank you all..
